Practical, design-aware websites for small business.

Week One Sites is a small studio with one focus: helping local businesses look as good online as they are in person.

Merritt

Founder and designer

Hi, I am Merritt.

I build websites for small and local service businesses: the contractors, cleaners, hosts, studios, and shops that do great work but do not have the time, budget, or patience for a drawn-out web project.

I have spent enough time around service businesses and property management to know how leads actually come in. A quick search, a glance on a phone, a fast judgment about whether you look reliable. A good website wins that moment. A dated or clunky one quietly loses it.

So the approach is simple and honest. I keep the scope clear, the timeline short, and the focus on what moves the needle: trust, clarity, mobile experience, and an easy way for people to reach you. No jargon, no hype, no mystery invoices.

I care about design because taste earns trust, but design here is in service of your business. If a smaller fix is the smarter move, I will say so. The goal is a site you are proud of that actually brings in work.

Businesses I understand

  • Contractors and home services
  • Cleaning and maintenance
  • Property and STR management
  • Wellness and appointments
  • Restaurants and cafés
  • Coaches and local pros
01How I work

A few things I hold to.

01

Honest about scope

If a smaller fix serves you better than a full rebuild, you will hear that. No upselling for its own sake.

02

Built for leads

Design should do a job: make people trust you and reach out. Looks matter because they earn that trust.

03

Fast, not rushed

A tight, focused process means a week, not a quarter, and a site that is still solid under the hood.

04

You own everything

Your site, your domain, your content. The care plan is a convenience, never a leash.
